Local peony season is here and with so much beauty. This spectacular flower starts off as a tight glossy ball and opens into the most light and ruffled bloom. The season runs from late spring into early summer.
When we start seeing these little beauties at the flower market we know that spring is on its way. We get so excited and can't help using them in as many posy of the days as we can. This rose of spring sure knows how to make a statement.
The name blushing bride came from a beautifully romantic folklore story. The story goes that a man would pick the flower and place it in the lapel of his jacket, on the way to propose to the love of his life. The gesture would make the lovely bride to be blush. Hence the name.
